Helsinki Highlights 2022
Ice Hot 2022 took place from June 29 to July 3 at the Cable Factory and the brand new Tanssin talo, Dance House Helsinki. The joy and happiness in the air was palpable as the international dance community finally got to meet each other face to face, after a long period of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The exceptionally hot summer edition of the Ice Hot Nordic Dance Platform presented 38 Nordic companies and choreographers on 8 different stages and venues. A burning question was treated in many talks and discussions: How can we act as agents of change in making our events and the whole field more sustainable?
“I think Ice Hot has become the best Dance Platform in the world. Not only could I meet many Nordic artists, I especially felt the dynamics of the ecosystem and the strength of the system in Finland and in this area.”

Ice Hot Helsinki team was delighted to host the 172 artists and company members from all Nordic countries who presented their work to nearly 300 guests – presenters, programmers, funders – from all over the world. A staff of 120 people, including the volunteers, made this event happen smoothly and in the best conditions.
Ice Hot thrives to strengthen the sustainable development of the dance sector and to organize live events in a more ecological way – in the Environmental Evaluation you can read how we succeeded.
