Can we experience a dance performance in the same way we experience a waterfall? "Flökt" is a partly visible, partly invisible dance between bodies, materials, sound, space and the atmosphere. It offers an exploration of our bodily connection with our surroundings, and the conditions of the imminent in a constantly changing world. The audience is invited into a white silk dome, an environment in a constant state of transition. Together, we undertake a journey inside an interconnected poetic miniature of our world.
Artist / Company Bio
In "Flökt", choreographer and dancer Bára Sigfúsdóttir and visual artist Tinna Ottesen join forces. Ottesen´s artistic practice deals with performative materials and their effect on space. "Flökt" is a freestanding continuation of Sigfúsdóttir´s previous work "The Lover" (2015), which dealt with the relationship between humans and nature, inspired by an ongoing dialogue with Icelandic environmental philosopher Gudbjörg R. Jóhannesdóttir.
